Tournament Results

Members of the Columbus Wrestling Organization participated in the MWC "King of the Mat" Wrestling Tournament in Papillion-La Vista on Sunday, January 29th. This tournament is the 3rd leg of the Nebraska USA Wrestling "Tour of Nebraska" Series.

Championships were won by Levi Cerny, Nicholas Bennett, Andon Stenger, Rylee Iburg and Colton Wolfe. Second-place finishers were Kaden Brownlow, Rigo Salcido, Blake Cerny, Hunter Gassmann, Thad Baldwin, Carson Zwingman, Zach Baldwin and Tristan Marking.

Zane Williams, Tanner Kobza and Carter Woehlk placed third while Adrian Valenzulala, Caine Stenger and Connor Dush placed fourth. Finishing in fifth place were David Bennett, Trey Kobza and Wyatt Olcott with Clay Cerny and Drew Loosvelt finishing sixth.

Members of the Columbus Wrestling Organization also participated in the Norfolk Champion-of-Champions K-8 Wrestling Tournament in Norfolk on Sunday, January 29th

Championships were won by Kasen Grape, Ean Luebbe, Dawson Cavaness, Kasten Grape, Gage Perry, Avery McMeekin and Kyle Kobza. Champion-of-Champions were also won by Ean Luebbe, Dawson Cavaness, Kasten Grape, Gage Perry, Avery McMeekin and Kyle Kobza.

Second-place finishers were Colton Cavaness and Dallas Oberg while Caden Lieberman finished third. Placing fourth were Damien Palmateer, Cody Welsch, Emmit McMeekin and Kolyn Lieberman.

Members of the Columbus Wrestling Organization participated in the Lakeview Wrestling Club Tournament on Sunday, January 22.

Championships were won by Brandon DeAnda, Kaden Brownlow, Landon Sliva, Nicholas Bennett, Andon Stenger, Blake Cerny, Colby Tworek, Cody Welsch, Gavin Zoucha, Rylee Iburg, Clay Cerny, Anthony DeAnda, Blaine Young, Kyle Kobza, Logan Waller, Carter Woehlk, Colton Wolfe and Dallas Oberg.

Second-place finishers were Zandyr Kohl, Rigo Salcido, Simon Janssen, David Bennett, Ean Luebbe, Owen Davis, Ross Thorson, Ryan Ciboron, C.J. Fleeman, Connor Dush, Dylan Zoucha, Emmit McMeekin, Gage Perry, Camdyn Iwan, Avery McMeekin, Kolyn Lieberman, Carson Zwingman, Wren Allen, Hunter Colfack, Nicholas Dolezal, Colton Cavaness and Miguel Angel Velez Jr.

Finishing in third where Owen Lawrence, Levi Cerny, Connor Braun, Tyler Zwingman, Rudy Brunkhorst, Zane Williams, Adrian Valenzuela, Michael Matulka, Damien Palmateer, Aiden Henggeler, Caden Lieberman, Hunter Gassmann, Jacob Guilliatt, Drew Loosvelt, Alex Korte, Kasten Grape, Joey Braasch, Ryan Zoucha, Garrett Krumland and Tristan Marking.

Fourth-place finishers were Colby Matulka, Jonathan Reiff, Ryland Prokopec, Kasen Grape, Payton Sliva, Ian Nelson, Antonio Fasnacht, Zane Zoucha, Carter Braun, Caine Stenger, Noah Braun, Jesse Hollendieck, Zach Ciboron, Paxton Myers, Kobe Paczosa-Hall, Hunter Derochie, Wyatt Olcott, Riley Reeder and Cyrus Marshall.

Members of the Columbus Wrestling Organization participated in the Midland Warrior Wrestling Championships in Fremont on Sunday, January 15th. This tournament is the 2nd leg of the Nebraska USA Wrestling "Tour of Nebraska" Series.

Championships were won by Kaden Brownlow, Rylee Iburg and Connor Dush. Finishing in second were Nicholas Bennett, David Bennett, Wren Allen and Colton Wolfe. Third-place finishers were Kasen Grape, Andon Stenger, Caine Stenger, Kasten Grape, Carson Zwingman, Kyle Kobza, Zach Baldwin, Tristan Marking and Dallas Oberg. Blake Cerny, Carsen Marking, Ean Luebbe, Clay Cerny, Camdyn Iwan, Nicholas Dolezal and Wyatt Olcott finished fourth, while Cody Welsch finished fifth.

These wrestlers along with Levi Cerny, Ian Nelson, Adrian Valenzuala, Micheal Matulka, Hunter Gassmann, Thad Balwin, Alex Korte, Dawson Cavaness, Carter Woehlk, Hunter Derochie, Colton Cavaness and Luis Arcos all contributed to the Columbus Wrestling Organization winning the Team Championship. Congratulations to each and every wrestler and their contributions to the Team in winning the team title!!

Congratulations to the members of the Columbus Wrestling Organization who participated in the Concordia V.F.W. Kids’ Wrestling Open held Saturday, January 7th in Concordia, KS.

Championships were won by Nicholas Bennett, David Bennett, Blake Cerny, Clay Cerny, Zach Baldwin and Colton Wolfe. Finishing in 3rd Place were Thad Baldwin and Logan Waller.

Members of the Columbus Wrestling Organization participated in the USA Wrestling Making A Difference Tournament held Sunday, December 18th in Grand Island. Making a Difference Tournaments focus on supporting college wrestling with all the money raised going directly to help support local college level programs.

Blake Cerny finished as Champion. Finishing in 2nd Place were Camdyn Iwan, Zach Baldwin and Colton Wolfe. Third place finishers were Carson Marking, Clay Cerny, Thad Baldwin, Connor Dush and Kyle Kobza.

Members of the Columbus Wrestling Organization participated in the Hastings Force 4th Annual Youth Wrestling Tournament on Sunday, December 11th.

Championships were won by Rylee Iburg, Tanner Kobza, Andon Stenger, Thad Baldwin, Avery McMeekin, Colton Wolfe and Carter Woehlk. Finishing in 2nd Place were Carson Marking, Trey Kobza, Justin Gaston, Wren Allen, Zach Baldwin and Logan Waller. Third place finishers were Nicholas Bennett, David Bennett, Michael Matulka, Zane Williams, Connor Dush, Nicholas Dolezal and Tristan Marking while Caden Lieberman, Kolyn Lieberman, Caine Stenger and Colton Cavaness finished in 4th Place.

As a team, the Columbus Wrestling Organization brought home the 2011 Tournament Team Championship Award.

Members of the Columbus Wrestling Organization participated in the Norfolk Jr. Wrestling Gold Medal Tournament on Sunday, December 4th. Finishing as Champions were Trey Kobza, Tanner Kobza, Connor Dush, Dawson Cavaness, Logan Waller, Camdyn Iwan, Carson Zwingman, Colton Wolfe and Kyle Kobza. Finishing in 2nd Place were Kaston Grape and Colton Cavaness while C.J. Fleeman and Caine Stenger finished in 3rd Place. As a team, the wrestlers won 31 of 37 total matches with 22 wins by pin.

Columbus Wrestling Organization captures 2 National Championships

The Columbus Wrestling Organization had 13 wrestlers participate in the Rocky Mountain Nationals – Monster Match Tournament in Denver, Colorado on November 5th, 2011. The tournament featured over 1600 wrestlers traveling from all parts of the United States. In the high school division, Keenan Hall placed 2nd at HWT and Ryan Kubr placed 4th at 182 lbs. Also wrestling was Austin Peace (18U). In the youth divisions, Carson Zwingman and Colton Wolfe both became National Champions by winning their respective age/weight brackets. Carson won the 10U 85 lbs division beating Raymond Sandoval of Top Notch (Colorado) by a score of 9-2 while Colton won the 12U 130 lbs division beating Cole Pilgrim of Amarillo Osprey (Texas) by technical fall. Zach Baldwin also placed by finishing 5th in the 15U 88 lbs division. Others wrestling were Tanner Kobza (8U), Trey Kobza (8U), Thad Baldwin (10U), Connor Dush (10U) and Carter Woehlk (15U).
